Prepping for Paint
Once a car or panel has been through the body work process it needs to have a top coat primer applied in readiness for paint.
Top coat primer is a 2 part high build primer. These primers can be tinted to closely match the paint colour being applied.
After the specified curing time each panel is guide coated and block sanded to check for any imperfections or irregularities. Any remaining low spots or imperfections are filled or repaired then re sanded and re primed.
Once block sanding has been completed, a final sanding step using a finishing grit is completed to remove any deep sanding scratches that the block sanding stage has created and give the surface an even key for the paint to adhere too.
